Mancession

No relation to manscaping. Nor the swollen, small brains of NFL linesmen.

A mancession happens when, in a recession, more men's jobs are lost than women's.

And this is a Thing. In the past, when women worked in leaning-toward-more-menial jobs after the end of WW2, their jobs were the first to evaporate. But times have changed, and under both political pressure and the advent of cheap, safe, ubiquitous robots, down markets have become a natural time in which to affect major RIFs (reductions in force), and remove more "man jobs" than "woman jobs," if there really is such a thing anymore.
