Margin Loan Availability

Are the brokerages cool with margin? Like...are margin accounts even available at XYZ Brokerage?
Most of 'em in the modern era allow margin to be drawn on accounts up to about 50% of the gross value in the account. That is, in an account with $250,000 worth of stocks in it, that brokerage would allow for a margin draw of up to 50% or $125,000, incremental to the $250,000 to be invested. But some brokerages, still feeling scars from the Great Crash of '29, don't do margin. Too risky. Too many things to go wrong. Too many idiots buying shares on the way up on margin, and not knowing why they're buyin', only to sell them on the way down, not knowing why they're sellin'.
So sorry, Margin Nazi, no soup (or margin) for you.
