It's just a shout-out call signal you'll hear on the trading floor at open. Or when there’s a big market reversal intraday.
The geese on the trading floor want to feel their “belongingness” to the flow of securities ripping buy, and just like a flock of geese warning of that wolf snarling around the edges of the lake, the floor traders will repeat the words of the next gal and mumble loudly “Market is up!” as if that’ll like…mean something that everyone doesn’t already know.
It’s sorta like the guy in the elevator who pushes the button for you.
