Mobile Health

Categories: Tech

You drop your phone in the toilet. Time to break out the rice for a little emergency intervention. One kind of mobile health.

Actually, this term has nothing to do with the health of your mobile phone. Instead, the term refers to the use of high-tech communication technology to make healthcare providers more efficient.

Mobile health, or mHealth, as it's sometimes called, includes leveraging both information and communication technologies to help people get better access to health services, and to help providers do their job better. So...make an appointment through a mobile app...that's mHealth. A doctor using wireless technology to upload patient information...that's mHealth, too.
