Mortgage Banker

You buy a house. Unless you've got a suitcase stuffed with cash, you probably have to take out a mortgage. That means you borrow money to purchase the home...a loan you will pay back over the next 15 or 30 years (depending on the terms).

So...you make up one side of the mortgage contract. The mortgage banker constitutes the other end. The mortgage banker is the person or company that originates the mortgage, the party lending you the money to purchase the house.
