The New Alternative Transportation to Give Americans Solutions Act of 2011...the bill that couldn’t have a longer name.

Yep, it’s still just a bill—wasn’t ever voted on. Sponsored by Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey.

The New Alternative Transportation to Give Americans Solutions Act of 2011 is a bill designed to encourage alternative energy R&D, investments, and jobs in the transportation industry...mostly cars.

It proposes to edit some parts of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, which would have provided economic incentives for greener cars, like extending an alternative energy motor vehicle tax credit for consumers and businesses, and incentives to retrofit older cars to be able to function with newer, greener fuel types.
