Newly Industrialized Country - NIC

Categories: Econ, International

An emerging market country, fighting hard to upgrade to being second world. Sorta like most of Europe is now.

So who's a candidate? Well, Nigeria has been plagued by corrupt government at the expense of its people for decades, if not centuries. But Nigeria also has massive oil reserves. If the government can let free enterprise work among its people, maybe Nigeria has a chance of becoming industrialized so that its masses can get Instagram on their phones quickly, get universal healthcare, put in golf courses populated by angry old men, and have pollution become a real Thing.

Ah, industrialization...can't live without it. Can we?
