Lawyers. Can't live with 'em...yeah. That's it.

So a patent lawyer is the guy or gal you just want to hate all day long. They likely have a PhD or advanced equivalent degrees in a STEM category. And then they had the audacity to go to laugh school. So, yes, they're 29 when they're done with all their schooling, but wow, they're set to make a fortune.

Very few people can play far enough above the rim in complex patent situations like the Tech Wars in Silicon Valley or the drug wars in China and/or globally. And very few people have both sides of the brain working so well that they can actually proffer meaningful opinions about the efficacy of the electronics and how that maps to the law. These people make a grand or so an hour when they get to altitude in their careers; if you ask nicely, maybe they'll give you the keys to their Bentley. No scratches.
