Paycation

Categories: Marketing

You get paid to be on vacation. Or rather, you take a second job while you're on vacation from your first. Good for you; hard work makes the mill go 'round.

So you had those 3 weeks off, having worked for Behemoth Corp. for 10 years. And now you want to buy a home. A really nice one. You've paid off your student loans. So has your husband. You both decided that, instead of spending 2 grand for 3 weeks sipping mai tais on a beach somewhere, you'd take a consulting gig, produce a white paper, do 30 hours of real, billable research, and make 3 grand, net of everything, for your troubles.

That $5k swing is the difference between you being able to afford the down payment on the lovely $200k home you wanted with a back yard and a bondage parlor. So you got paid for your vacation.

Pay. Cation. Catchy phrase. American Dream work ethic. We heart you people. Enjoy the new home. (Just try to keep the noise down.)
