Peer Group

The entire defense industry's stocks did horribly this month, when peace broke out all over the world.

Peers get evaluated against each other. So maybe the whole group went down 18%, but Boeing was down only 7% in an overall S&P 500 stock market that was flat. Well, then on a relative basis compared with the peer group, Boeing did great. Even though it's really hard to get excited about being down 7% in a stock.
