Positive Carry

Carry is profit participation. And when you have it, that's positive. Some funds do poorly (duh), so they are under water, or under the carry minimums, so that they are only getting their 2% fee and not the 20% profit participation or carry gains they'd expect, had they actually done well investing their partners' money.
