Positive Feedback

See: Negative Feedback. Then multiply by negative 1.

You barely worked at all this year. Got in great shape. Golfed a lot. And your pores have never been more exfoliated. You only owned 5 stocks in your portfolio, but they were Facebook, Google, Amazon, Apple, and Netflix in their heyday years, and they went up massively. You ended up this year with an $18 million bonus. This was positive feedback. Not on your work ethic, but on your results.

Did investors care whether you worked hard or...not much at all? Nope. All they wanted was for their money invested to do well. And since it did, you were positively fed.
