The monster from an H.P. Lovecraft story. Also, it's a form of health benefit provided by some small businesses.

QSEHRA stands for "qualified small employer health reimbursement arrangement." It's a form of HRA, or health reimbursement account, which are often used to supplement traditional health insurance coverage. Here, the program often replaces a traditional employer-provided insurance structure.

Under the QSEHRA, the company determines a monthly allowance for its employees (the QSEHRA program is employer-funded). Meanwhile, employees use their own money to buy healthcare-related stuff. These purchases could include direct healthcare services (like seeing a doctor), or they could involve paying for health insurance or other coverage. The employee then submits the expenses to the company, which reimburses them from the monthly allowance.

So, under the system, the employer doesn't pay for the employee's insurance directly. Instead, they provide a pool of money from which the employee can draw. The employee is then responsible for buying whatever they think they need, from insurance to copays to medicine to healing crystals (assuming the company will reimburse for them).

QSEHRA puts a lot of onus on the individual employees to take care of their healthcare needs. They have to find insurance and fill out the paperwork, etc. But it also allows the employees more choice; they aren't locked into the group plan the company negotiated.
