Scalper

You know ‘em. You’ve seen ‘em. They’re standing in the parking lots of almost every ballgame everywhere. They bought tickets previously at some discounted price, or even stated retail price, and then hope to profit by marking up the price of the ticket to a hot game.

And you’ll notice the very heavy Theta Decay in their pricing as the game gets closer to kickoff or tipoff or puckoff or whatever. A ticket that might sell, scalped, for $300 an hour before the game...goes to 50 bucks or less 3 minutes before the game starts.

Risk. Reward. Buzzer beaters.

Why the term "scalper"? It was another word for a conman back in the 1800s. Nothing to do with an angry Native American with an obsidian knife blade.
