Self-Serving Bias

  

"The reason I did this right is due to my internal awesomeness...and the reason I did that thing over there wrong is, uh...because of you."

That about sums up self-serving bias. It’s effectively when people lie to themselves…which is almost all of the time…insisting that when they do something right, it’s because they got it in ‘em to do it right, and not because of anyone else. Subsequently, when something goes wrong, it’s everyone and everything else’s fault but theirs.

They scapegoat. They protect their fragile little egos.
