Silicon Valley

Categories: Tech

Not the TV series. The place. The birthplace of the semiconductor, the guts of the computer. Its central heartbeat: Stanford University.

Amazingly, a huge part of the world's wealth creation in the last 3-4 decades has come from SV. Google, Yahoo, eBay, Facebook, Salesforce, Uber, Lyft, Oracle, and on and on and on and on. Trillions in market value companies. Almost all heavy tech...driven by a culture that embraces tech risk like a sport. It's one of the few places on Earth where the chess champion is way cooler than the quarterback.

Warning: don't come here if you don't have big brains, brass, and bravado. SV eats the weak for lunch.
