Solutionary

Categories: Careers

When someone asks Petunia what she does for a living, she tells them she’s a systems consultant. But that’s just what it says on her business card. She's really a “solutionary”...part problem-solver, part visionary, part outside-the-box thinker, topped off with a little bit of big-picture planning and a dash of community spirit.

Petunia doesn’t just come at a problem with the same old bag of tricks every time. She prides herself on addressing her clients’ concerns in a holistic fashion, coming up with solutions that maybe aren’t the cheapest or easiest to implement, but will have the most positive impact on the client and the client’s community and environment in the long-term.

A solutionary finds new, better ways of doing things, and even though some of the old-timers tell her it sounds like a made-up word when she tries to explain it, she still thinks it’s a pretty good description of what she does on a day-to-day basis.
