Sprexit

Sprexit is...you guessed it: Spanish Brexit, or the exiting of Spain from the European Union.
While more countries are thinking of exiting the EU, inspired by big daddy Britain, it’s probably not a smart economic move. Of course, that depends on what leaving the EU actually entails, but one of the largest effects would be switching away from the euro.
A Sprexit would potentially cause interest rates to climb, which would result in major defaults across Spain. Is Sprexit worth the risk of a Spanish recession? Maybe Depression?
Spain lies in the middle of the economic ladder of the EU, behind Germany, France, the UK, and Italy. To put things in perspective, they got bailed out from the collapse of their housing market in 2012, so...yeah. Sprexit doesn’t seem to be all that smart a move for Spain. At least for now.
