Takeover Bid

See: Takeover. See: Takeover Artist.

The bid is the first part of the process, and many takeouts are hotly contested, with dozens of bids along the way. The "winner" will have paid a highly inspected premium price for that takeover, i.e., they will have suffered The Winner's Curse and will have paid a special price (i.e. full price) for whatever the target was.

Now their big challenge is to make that prize run a whole lot better, so that it is, in fact, worth the big price they paid.
