Yeah, it’s not that dumb party you throw every April 15. It represents a literal holiday from taxes. Governments will declare a tax holiday in order to stimulate the economy or drive some specific agenda.

The state of Michigan wants to give a boost to the auto industry. So it declares a tax holiday for a sales tax on cars. Buy a car in the next six weeks, and you save on the taxes. A tax holiday...meant to drive car sales.
