Tiered Rewards

Credit cards have these for the customers who use them loyally. Think: the Olympics. The gold medal of glory down to the bronze medal of shame.
Spend a million dollars in a year on your Black AmEx card and you're a top tier client. You'll have given them something like 20 grand in credit spread, along with "teeth" for merchants, and a name, highly valued for marketing purposes to jet rental companies, financial managers, and divorce attorneys.
Companies often "tier" their client base so as to better target their needs, add more value, and basically win more love from them. Why? So they spend more.
Who says "money can't buy you love" other than the Beatles, who had like...billions?
