Trading Book

Categories: Trading, Accounting

The positions a trader has open are known as their trading book.

You own 100 shares of AMZN, ten call options on NKE, and a short position on MSFT. That list of positions constitutes your book.

Of course, for major financial institutions, the trading books get a little longer (and more complex). We're talking billions of dollars worth of positions listed in those trading books.

like 250 a share that's of in-the-money value on those options times 20,000

01:27

shares or 50 grand yeah way more than your boring experience of just owning

the stock and making a whopping 500 bucks but you'll also risk losing

everything and this kind of foot's with whole notion of risk and reward being [Man in between reward and risk]
