Two-Way ANOVA

The two-way ANOVA is 33% less ANOVA-ey than the three-way ANOVA. We use the ANOVA test to try to gain evidence to support a claim that a change in one variable is due to a change in another. The two-way ANOVA allows us to test the effect of changes in two variables on possible changes in the third.

This test can provide evidence that changes in just one or both variables might cause changes in the third. We might have a scenario where we’re testing a new diet and exercise program and its effect on weight loss. The two way ANOVA can give us evidence that it’s just the diet or just the exercise or both that might have produced the weight loss.

Additionally, ANOVA tests can tell us if the weight loss happens dues to different levels of either the diet and/or the exercise, like strict diet and mild exercise or strict diet and heavy exercise.
