Unregistered Shares

There's no record. The shares exist. The company did, in fact, issue 10 million shares to various investors. But whatever.com had no restrictions on selling them. So those shares trade actively and freely among the Whos in Whoville. They're not registered with a brokerage. They're more or less like playing cards with VIN or Serial Numbers embedded in them. And, well, that's about it.

So if you wanna buy 10,000 of 'em for $4.32 each from Vinny, the guy with the long, gray raincoat in the alley, have at it. No need to do anything other than pocket them in your vest and tuck them away safely in your, um, safe...hoping some day for an IPO when, by default, they'll become registered. Good luck with that.
