Wedding Warrant

Wedding warrants are also called “harmless warrants” or “wedded warrants,” and right off the bat, we just want to tell everyone out there that they have absolutely nothing to do with nuptials. This isn’t like a criminal search warrant we can issue for a runaway bride or something.
No, wedding warrants are a type of bond, and basically, the deal is this: if we buy a wedding warrant, we can’t buy another bond from the same company with the same terms until that bond matures. If we do buy one, we have to surrender the first one. Pretty simple, right?
Issuing bonds with orders attached like this one help companies keep a handle on their debt. If we’re curious as to whether or not our favorite bonds are attached to a warrant, we can look at the company’s stock symbol. If it’s got a W at the end, then we are looking at a warrant situation.
