White Paper

Categories: Education

A white paper is an authoritative, informational document—typically a report or a guide—that breaks down a complex thing into all of its parts. It’s meant to be important to an industry, helping that industry to assess a current situation or solve an industry-wide problem.

In more modern times, white papers are often used as a marketing device to sell a product or service as a solution. A good white paper will be more informative and holistic than your average article you can find online, but less helpful than a step-by-step user guide on how to do something.
