Yuppie

A yuppie is a slang term referring to urban youngsters with money to burn. They’re young, they have money, and they’re successful (or...they have parents who are). Usually, they have a certain style, too. Kind of preppy, but not necessarily full prep attire. Oh yeah, and they’re probably liberal.

Yuppie is usually a derogatory term, which started in the 1980s and continues today. It’s used to describe people who are considered undeservedly wealthy, and maybe a bit obnoxious. They’re all about the trends. Yup. (Pie.)
