Source: "Love Shack"

Speaker: The B-52's

Hurry up and bring your jukebox money!

Context

This line is from the song "Love Shack" by The B-52's, from the album Cosmic Thing (1989).

The B-52's were at their prime when this song hit the charts in 1989—no wonder they could sing about having a Chrysler as big as a whale. Still their best-known single, "Love Shack" was inspired by an actual cabin (complete with a rusted tin roof) near the band's home of Athens, Georgia, where they recorded another famous single, "Rock Lobster." Unfortunately, the real Love Shack has since burned down. Hopefully, somebody got the jukebox out.

So hurry up...and check out the original video.

Where you've heard it

You might've caught these lines on the HBO show Looking or on Cold Case. Although, we figure the most likely scenario is that you saw the kids of Glee do their version. Here it is if you missed that one. Enjoy, and don't forget your jukebox money.

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

Tin roof? And even that's rusted? Yeah, there isn't one word in this entire song that's pretentious.
