Enzo gets picked out of a litter of puppies at the farm in Spangle and meets Denny for the first time. It's instant love.
During Enzo's first year of life with Denny, Denny meets Eve, and by Enzo's second birthday, Denny marries her and they have Zoë.
Things quickly devolve into a comedy of errors—without any comedy, and with the errors piling up more into catastrophes. From there, it's less of a race and more of a slog.
When the court grants Denny his freedom, things can get back on track, and Zoë is reunited with the family. Booyah.
Just as Denny is about to go to Italy to begin the career of his lifetime, Enzo knows his life is going to end.
We could believe that Enzo's up in the big dog park in the sky, but there's a decent chance he's now living again in the body of six-year-old human boy. Reincarnation wheel ftw.
