’s Timeline and Summary

  • Aside from a nasty drinking problem, 1985 Lorraine doesn't seem all that bad. She's basically just a sweet, traditional mother who still loves her husband (or tries to) and worries and cares about her kids.
  • Flashback to the past, and she's a cutie who has fallen hard for the boy her dad hit with the car. Happens to be her son, but she doesn't know that.
  • Thanks to Marty's heroic antics, Lorraine only develops stronger and stronger feelings for him as the movie progresses. At one point she even follows him to Doc's place and gets Marty to ask her to the school dance. Very persuasive, that one.
  • On the night of the dance, Lorraine pulls out all the stops in an attempt to bag her crush. Low-cut dress, alcohol swiped from her parents' liquor cabinet and a big ol' smooch that doesn't have quite the desired effect. In fact, Marty's such an awful kisser that she's sort of already done with him right then and there.
  • When George finally knocks out Biff, Lorraine sees him with a whole new set of eyes. She walks with him hand-in-hand into the school, and the two proceed to dance—and kiss—the night away.
  • The new and improved Lorraine seems much happier. She's thinner and appears younger than the other 1985 version, and we can assume she took Marty's advice to cut back on the drinking.
