- The story begins with a fairy tale of an old woman and a selfish young prince, who we figure out later must be around 11 years old or so.
- The moral of the story is that when an elderly woman offers you a rose for a night of shelter from the elements, you might want to accept it...unless you want to be turned into a hideous monster because that old hag is probably a magnificent enchantress.
- That rose you refused for payment? It's given mutant powers to judge the lessons you learn from life, and if you haven't gotten your act together by the age of 21, you'll get to look at that hairy, monstrous mug of yours for all eternity.
