• Aurangzeb watches Jahanara almost drown in the river.
• Aurangzeb's hugely successful in his first clashes against the Deccans, killing thousands and piling their heads up in pyramids. (Ew.)
• Aurangzeb assumes control of Hindustan's military after his father's complete emotional collapse after the death of Mumtaz Mahal.
• Aurangzeb continues to clash with his brother Dara regarding the way Hindustan should be ruled.
• Jahanara shames Aurangzeb publicly when she begs for mercy at an execution, and their father takes her side.
• Aurangzeb sends his henchman Balkhi to threaten Jahanara and Dara with death.
• Ladli "betrays" Jahanara and starts batting for Aurangzeb's team. So he thinks, at least.
• Aurangzeb plots to betray and kill Dara, but Jahanara thwarts his plans.
• Aurangzeb starts a war with the Persians.
• Aurangzeb is sent south to quell the Deccan uprising instead of fighting the Persians. Then, he gets to fight the Persians, but he loses miserably.
• Jahanara interrupts an assassination attempt on Aurangzeb by killing a cobra someone put in his room.
• Aurangzeb goes back to alternating between warring with the Persians and the Deccans. We can barely keep it straight.
• Upon learning that his father is ill, Aurangzeb betrays-slash-kills his brothers Shah and Murad and marches on Hindustan to take the throne.
• Dara and Jahanara concoct a plan to thwart Aurangzeb, but they fail. Aurangzeb executes Dara and imprisons Jahanara with their father.
• Jahanara tells Aurangzeb that if he so much as lays one hand on her, one of her spies will put another snake in his bed.
• Under Aurangzeb's rule, Hindustan is broke and warring with just about everybody.
• Aurangzeb lets his father fall ill again to lure Jahanara back to prison. She manipulates him into believing that Khondamir has been her "secret spy" all along, so he chops off her husband's head.
• Ladli flees Aurangzeb, fearing for her life, given that the dude is officially cray.
• Shah Jahan dies.
• Jahanara escapes. Again.
• Aurangzeb continues to sit on the Peacock Throne. He's known as Alamgir now.
