Article 2, Section 4

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

If the president does such a spectacularly bad job that the Congress finds him guilty of treason, bribery, or "other high crimes and misdemeanors"—now there's a standard that's as clear as mud!—he can be impeached and removed from office before the end of his normal four-year term.
