Baby (Jennifer Grey)’s Timeline and Summary

Baby arrives at Kellerman's with her family.
She quickly makes friends with Billy, an employee, and he takes her to the dancers' cabins.
There, Baby meets sexy dance instructor Johnny Castle, who shows her a few moves.
The next day, Baby learns that Johnny's dance partner, Penny, is pregnant.
Penny wants an abortion, and Baby attempts to get the money from the baby daddy, Robbie the waiter.
She can't get blood from a stone, or money from a deadbeat, so Baby borrows the money from her own daddy instead.
Problem solved, right? Wrong. Baby now needs to fill in for Penny in a dance show, or Johnny will lose the gig.
Baby trains super hard and learns to dance in the show.
Even though she fails to do a scary lift, Johnny compliments her for a job well done.
When they return, they discover Penny's abortion went horribly wrong.
Baby fetches her dad, a doctor, who saves Penny but forbids Baby from seeing the dancers again.
That sends Baby running back to Johnny's arms, where they do more than dance.
They conduct a secret affair until Johnny's fired for sleeping with a guest.
Baby's dad finds out, and he gets very mad at her. She tells him that he let her down, too, for being a hypocrite.
At the final show at Kellerman's, Johnny returns to do the big final dance the way he does every year.
But this year, he'll do it his way: with Baby as his partner.
They impress everyone, even Baby's dad who apologizes for misunderstanding Johnny.
The dancing pair even does the incredible lift. What a finale.
