Bond is famous for wild gadgets, from lasers to radar devices to invisible cars. And, compared to later generations, the technology present in Dr. No is relatively pedestrian.

Q isn't present in Dr. No, so there's no one to experiment with high-tech gadgets, like a beam that melts someone's face off. Instead, the "armorer" Major Boothroyd lectures Bond about the pros and cons of two different pistols. Do either of them shoot darts? Grappling hooks? No? Wake us when it's over.

From there, M dangles a juicy bit of technology in front of us.

M: I'll have a set of background papers to date delivered to you at the airport, in a self-destructor bag. You can study them during the flight.

Ooh, is it going to be like the self-destructing notes from Inspector Gadget?

We'll never know because we don't get to see it. M is teasing us, mentioned an exploding bag at the airport (someone call the TSA) that never shows up on screen.

One nifty object we do get to see is a cigarette with cyanide inside. The driver bites it to kill himself before revealing to Bond who is employer is. It looks…just like a cigarette. We're beginning to think this movie didn't have the budget for anything fancier. (Source)
