An Enquiry Concerning the Principles of Morals Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

PG

As an eighteenth century work of philosophy, this is hardly Fifty Shades of Grey. That's not to say that it doesn't discuss some "mature" themes—it's about morality and, naturally, this involves some discussion of sex. For instance, Hume refers to unfaithfulness as a vice and impotence as a flaw, adding that chastity is especially valued in women. Still, this stuff is treated in the same way as the other topics: it's all very scholarly and non-explicit. Yep, we're definitely in PG territory here.
