Exactly how steamy is this story?

C'mon, it's a story about quilts; you've got to expect it's going to be pretty tame. Sure we might wonder what's up with the relationship between Dee and Hakim-a-barber (the narrator even speculates that they might be married), but the two barely brush elbows. So if "Everyday Use" were a movie (which it is—check out the "Best of Web" section), you wouldn't be at all embarrassed to see it with your parents.
