There's no real guide or mentor in this movie. Marge is sufficient unto herself, in a lot of ways. Her husband seems pretty supportive, and Officers Lou and Olson help her out. But she doesn't actually need to be guided. She arrives fully formed, as a potential hero who just needs the opportunity to be heroic.
