Character Analysis
Holger is Salander's first guardian. They have a positive father-daughter type relationship, and Salander actually seems to trust him. In Tattoo, Salander thinks Holger is dead. In Fire, she learns he's alive, recovering from his massive stroke in a rehabilitation center. Salander and Holger reunite to the benefit of them both.
