Character Analysis
Lovely Fleur, one of Harry's competitors from the Tri-Wizard Tournament all the way back in Book 4, is back here, all grown up. She doesn't play a very big role in this book, but we can see her dramatic change from a rather selfish and arrogant young lady as a Beauxbatons schoolgirl, to a mature, spirited woman.
Fleur's marriage to Bill brings out the best in her character – and when Harry, Ron, and Hermione are briefly staying with the newlyweds at Shell Cottage, her Mrs. Weasley-like protective tendencies emerge clearly. Fleur also fights against the Death Eaters in the Battle of Hogwarts. We can see Fleur developing into a strong woman, and we imagine that she and Bill are pretty darn good parents to their daughter, Victoire.
