Katie is a superstar Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. During an outing to Hogsmeade one day during her last year at Hogwarts, Katie hangs out at the Three Broomsticks tavern. Before leaving to head back to Hogwarts, Madam Rosmerta, the tavern keeper who's under an Imperius Curse, places a curse over Katie which compels her to take a package to Hogwarts. On the way there, Katie argues with her friend over the package, and it splits open revealing an opal necklace. Upon touching the necklace, Katie levitates and experiences intense, horrific pain. She is rushed to St. Mungo's Hospital immediately. Who was the necklace was intended for? We have no idea, but we do have a clue as to who the sender might be…
