Who's the bravest of the brave in Here Be Monsters!? Our money's on Arthur, since this kid will face down all sorts of scary stuff, either out of curiosity or because he wants to help make things better. Snatcher, on the other hand, is only brave when he's backed up by his goons, or riding on top of an elephant-sized armored rat.
It makes sense, then, that many of Arthur's buddies are also pretty courageous, while the townsfolk of Ratbridge who at best turn a blind eye to Snatcher's devious ways don't seem to be brave. Needless to say, the townsfolk are pretty lucky they've got Arthur and his friends to help defend them against Snatcher.
