Exactly how steamy is this story?

There is absolutely nothing steamy in this novel at all. It's a kid's book, after all, so the closest look we get at anybody's body is an absolutely un-sensual description of the curly fur on hobbit toes. Considering that most of The Hobbit came about thanks to stories that Tolkien used to tell his four children, we're not surprised that it's about as G-rated as novels come.
