The Lion's Den
- Meggie goes outside to begin reading Inkheart, and then Dustfinger appears. Meggie asks him a ton of questions, and he says that he recognized the men taking her father, and that he managed to follow them most of the way to where they were heading: Capricorn's headquarters (a.k.a. the lion's den), which is to the south.
- Meggie begs Dustfinger to take her there. He agrees, but then Elinor sees him and acts suspicious. Dustfinger whispers to Meggie that he'll take her if they leave Elinor at home, but Elinor knows what's up and says she'll be coming too.
