Douglass is one of the young pages who Alanna first meets when she reaches the palace. He's a "stocky blond page" (2.51) who truthfully reports to Jonathan that Ralon started bullying "Alan" without any provocation. He's one of the younger pages, too, so he reports to sword training at the same time Alanna does.
