Pangle
Pangle is a lovable character, even though we don't see very much of him in the book. He has significant difficulties with learning, and few people pay much attention to him, unfortunately.
But he loves music, and in that love for music he finds a friendship with Stobrod. Sadly, Pangle doesn't realize he can't trust Teague, and he accidentally gives away the location of the cave full of deserters where he and Stobrod had been living. That motivates Teague to shoot Pangle and Stobrod. Pangle doesn't survive.
Pangle's story is tragic, but at least it includes a real delight in music and an actual friendship with Stobrod.
