Chapter 22

Scooter has been coming to watch Crash's football practice.
Crash has noticed that other kids have been teasing Penn about his cheerleading gig. But mostly, he's just focused on his plans for the upcoming school dance.
Crash still has his eye on Jane Forbes. The only problem is, she doesn't seem to have her eye on him.
Crash walks into the dance with his buddy Mike. Mike points out Jane Forbes, and Crash tries to act like he hasn't been thinking about her all day. To prove it, he turns and asks a random girl to dance.
He notices she's ugly, and he's horrified. But he's even more horrified when she says no. Ouch.
Crash stomps off.
