Chapter 42

Jane Forbes approaches Crash in the cafeteria. Someone has stolen Penn's turtle and left a ransom note. She wants to know if it was Crash.
It wasn't.
Later, at a track meet, Crash beats Penn again.
Afterward, Crash heads to Mike's house. He's got a good idea that Penn's turtle will be there. Guess what? He's right.
A scuffle ensues, and Crash knocks Mike over. They glare at each other for a minute, then Crash grabs the turtle and leaves.
He puts the turtle on Penn's back steps, knocks on the door, and runs.
