Chapter 25: Anger as a Form of Love

  • The next day, the coup fails, though General Mebratu, his brother, and Zemui are still alive. There's a hunt on for them.
  • Rosina finds out that Zemui has been gunned down: General Mebratu's brother shot him in the face before killing himself. It turns out that Mebratu has survived the attempted coup and is in a coma at the hospital.
  • Ghosh takes the boys to school. A mob attacks their car, but they make it through.
  • While they're at school, Ghosh is arrested, and no one knows where he's taken. Hema drinks water and gets sick: turns out the rebels have poisoned the water supply.
