Anne feels sad because her parents always side with Margot during disagreements. She’s also jealous of her father’s affection for Margot—but she says she isn’t jealous of Margot. Really she just wants to trust that her father loves her for who she is.
Anne has an even harder time with her mother. She thinks Mrs. Frank doesn’t act like a mom. Anne feels like she has to mother herself.
Anne believes that she has no good role models and that her parents have let her down.
